HEY! What do you do when you happen to have an off-day artistically? (That is, if you happen to do so from time to time, I don't dare presume.)

I don't mean in the sense of having a block idea-wise. I mean an off-day where none of the ideas you do have translate to the page? When no matter how many times you draw that particular thing, it keeps looking like total crap. (That is, if this sometimes happens to you, I don't dare presume.)

I've been stuck in an off-day for the last few days. Everything looks like crap. CRAP! It's possible I'm either over-thinking or maybe under-thinking the process. Or maybe I just suck.

How do you compensate or recover from such an off-day artistically? (That is, if this actually happens to you, I don't dare presume.)

Wacom tablet users! There must be some of you out there.

I've had a Wacom Intuos for some time now and have just only used the default nib with the default pen that it came with.

EDIT: Just remembered that not only did it come with a normal nib and a stroke nib, I think my tablet also came with a felt nib. In other words, there's no reason I can't just SEE FOR MYSELF what they're like. Heh. Er. I'm dumb?

Still! I would still like to know what your opinions on the subject may be, if any. Have any of you used any of the other styles of nibs? For example, the felt nibs? Do they make sketching feel more natural? What would be the advantages of the stroke nib?

PS Been drawing a lot. Am pleased with myself. All on paper and nothing scanned though. I can see why more prolific posters are ones who draw in the computer. I should probably use my tablet for more than work, eh?

It's kind of interesting to look at what appears the most popular on this site. I'm not referring to the "most popular in six hours" on the front page or anything (that a whole other discussion by itself, one I lack the wherewithal to articulate), it's just interesting to see what on one's own personal page appears the more popular.

For example, colored art seems to be more eye-catching than regular pencil drawings and fan art is more popular than original art. Which makes sense really, random Deviants who wouldn't know of you otherwise are more likely to come across your page if they happen to be doing a search for specific art.

Personally, however, for myself, I much prefer inspecting people's raw pencil sketches and I prefer looking at people's original characters and art. So go figure. (Although hindsight informs me that my "favorites" list is populated by mostly, you guessed it, colored fan art.)

In other words, what I am trying to say here is, it's been way too long since I lasted posted art to DA and I should probably throw some Star Wars crap up.
